Kilombero Sugar Company, the largest producer of sugar in the country, is inviting a dynamic and result oriented person to fill a vacancy of Fire Manager existing in the company. The successful applicant will be required to establish, implement and maintain quality, safety, health and environmental management systems and is required to be committed to comply with relevant legislation, regulations and other requirements to which the organization subscribes and which covers; sugar cane production, sugar manufacture, refining and associated services.

Designated duties and areas of responsibility in accordance with the NOSA CMB 253 Integrated 5 star system-Element 3.00 Sub elements 3.01-3.08, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 and the relevant Fire legislation as per Tanzania law (Act No. 14 of 2007) meanwhile driving cost down whilst improving performance.
Qualifications and Competencies Required.
A qualification in Fire Management includes; Basic fire fighter, fire extinguisher maintenance course, fire safety awareness at working place, fire safety management course, hazardous/explosive material handlers and rescue training, fire alarm/sprinkler course, NOSA Safety, management training course, (SAMTRAC) and other environmental and NOSA Courses.

Tasks
1.    Identify fire risks associated with the process of KSC and implement remedial action plans in relation to the appropriate risk methodologies and documentation.
2.    Implement annual refresher training courses for fire teams and all KSC Employees and maintain all records.
3.    Ensure provision of adequate fire protection equipment for the specific areas to be covered, the correct type of equipment, and suitable locations for installation.
4.    Ensure that the servicing of all equipment is conducted annually.
5.    Ensure that the fire suppression, direction and fire automated systems are in sound working conditions and that the relevant inspections and maintenance documentation are up to date.
6.    Implement and manage a fire prevention and containment system through the erection of fire signage, “keep clear” demarcations, escape routes, thermograph, fire breaks and fire fighting back up systems, high visibility fire points and fire resistant constructions and or retardants.
7.    Develop and simulate fire drill with all fire team members and other employees on the estate as per prescribed standards.
8.    Coordinate all fire emergency scenarios with the available fire teams present on site.
9.    Coordination of the fire stickers for all vehicles on site.
10.    Ensure fire protection compliance in terms of fire and safety acts/legislation of Tanzania act no 14 of 2007 and NOSA CMB253 for the storage of flammables, chemicals and Explosive materials.
11.    Ensure the effective communication and understanding of fire alarms to all employees and appropriate response is taken in the event of a fire emergency.
12.    Any other duties relevant to this role as may be assigned by superior.

Terms of Service: the successful candidate will be engaged on a permanent contract.
